Context
A trip to Shanghai was planned for 29 May to open an I Ching course. With the national train schedule in transition, a hexagram was cast to check the journey. The hexagram cast was Jin transforming into Lü.

Analysis
Li (Fire) is the body trigram and Kun (Earth) the use trigram. Body producing use is the image of depletion — the trip is unfavorable. The reciprocal hexagram is Jian; with Kan (Water) above as body and Gen (Earth) below as use, use restraining body is bad. Kan is sinking, Gen is stopping — transit will be obstructed. Officials appear four times, meeting the Year-Stem on the month-stem in thriving phase. Brothers hold the Subject line; Brothers transforming into Brothers paired with the Flying Snake may bring wealth-robbery. The Object line is in Empty Decade — the matter does not succeed.
Actual outcome
A telegram was sent to Shanghai delaying the class opening. If they had set out on 29 May, the Zhengzhou, Xuzhou, and Nanjing routes would have been blocked and they would have been stranded in transit. In fact, on 6 April a major blast at the Guangzhou rail terminal killed and injured dozens.
