Context
In 1986, Mr. Do's daughter (from my workplace) was sitting the university entrance exam. He came for a reading. The hexagram cast was Gui Mei transforming into Heng (Yi-Si day, Yi-Wei month). After examining the lines I told Mr. Do: your daughter will surely enter university this year, but her major will shift and won't be ideal.

Parents Chou Earth thrives and holds the Subject line; Officials Si Fire meets the day-stem and moves to produce the Subject line — i.e. produces the Literary Star. That is a sign she can pass. But Parents Chou Earth is broken by the month and hidden-moves into Brothers You Metal that bleeds it off. Chou and You half-combine into a Brothers cluster, and Brothers signal contention — so although she was initially admitted to Chinese Literature, the slot was later taken by someone else.
Actual outcome
On 1 August 1986 she did indeed pass and was admitted to the Chinese department at Northwestern University in Xi'an. Initially the department was unchanged, but upon arrival she was reassigned to the Management department to study industrial management.
