What is the Lo Ban Ruler?
The Lo Ban Ruler (魯班尺) is a feng shui measuring tool used by East Asian carpenters and feng shui masters. Each 450mm cycle is divided into 8 sections: Tai, Benh, Ly, Nghia, Quan, Kiep, Hai, Ban. Dimensions falling in Tai, Nghia, Quan, Ban are auspicious; Benh, Ly, Kiep, Hai are inauspicious. Commonly applied to doors, cabinets, and altars.
