Now on this đầy cữ (or đầy tháng, đầy năm) day, with sincere heart we prepare incense, flowers, and offerings, laid out before the altar, and respectfully report to the venerable Deities: Thanks to the kindness of the Buddhas of the Ten Directions, the Sages and Holy Ones, the Lord-Midwife Goddesses, the Spirit Deities, the Earth Deity of the soil-vein, the principal Earth Deity, and the ancestors of both paternal and maternal sides, our child ...... was born on ....... and mother and child are well. We humbly ask: the Heavenly Maidens, the venerable Deities, descend before the altar, bear witness to our sincerity, partake of these offerings, shelter and support, caress and protect this child — that the child eat well, sleep well, eat well and grow fast, free of illness, free of misfortune, free of calamity, free of evil, free of bound; that the child's body and destiny be at peace, strong; that lifetime after lifetime they enjoy glory and wealth.
