Grand Opening Prayer

The grand opening day of a shop, business, or office

Meaning

The grand opening rite is an important ceremony when opening a shop or starting a business. Vietnamese believe that opening on an auspicious day with the proper offerings brings luck, abundant customers, and prosperous trade throughout the year.

Offering preparation

Grand opening offering tray: roast pig or boiled chicken, five-fruit tray (with full red and green colors), steamed buns (for luck), fresh flowers, wine, soft drinks, incense, candles, and votive paper. Decorate the shop properly; set off firecrackers (if permitted) or perform a lion dance.

A flow of customers and bustling trade. Abundant wealth and prosperous profits. Staff who work well and stand together in harmony. Freedom from misfortune; smooth flow in all things.
