Under Thổ Tú's rule, one is prone to illness and misfortune. The rite is performed to dispel illness and invoke peace.

Thái Bạch Star
Preparation:
The Thái Bạch star-dispelling rite is performed on the 15th of each month, with 8 candles. Thái Bạch is an inauspicious star ruling loss of money and verbal disputes. Inauspicious for both men and women, but slightly less so for men.
Offerings include:
- Incense and flowers;
- Gold paper money;
- White star tablet;
- White hat;
- Oản cakes;
- 36 paper coins.
