We respectfully bow to the Dharma-protector heavenly deities and the venerable Bodhisattvas, asking you to extend compassion, shelter and support us, that we may obtain… (career, fortune, dispelling misfortune, peace…). We humbly ask the venerable ones to accept this modest offering with sincere heart (the petition), bear witness, that we may pass through misfortune unscathed, that good come and harm depart, that we receive fortune and wealth, that the family enjoy good health, that above and below be in harmony with peace and prosperity. We mortal humans of the dust still have many faults. We humbly ask the Buddhas and Saints to extend great forgiveness so that we (and our family) may pass through misfortune unscathed, all things go well, every wish granted, every prayer fulfilled.
